This unit is designed to be used with some student/instructor interaction. It can also be revised to be used as an independent study for the student. It is written as a 10-day unit, but can be slowed down or sped up as needed for the individual student. The unit is written for a student that reads on the 5-8th grade level.
It would work great in a one-on-one setting for homeschool or for a teacher to use as a resource in the classroom for a small group or entire class. The unit is designed so that you can start teaching immediately with little to no preparation on your part. Great time saver!
This unit contains:
1. Teacher Packet containing detailed daily lesson plans, an answer key, and suggested curriculum connection activities.
2. Student Packet containing vocabulary activities, comprehension questions, and extended writing activities that correlate with the book.
3. An after the book activity packet.
The unit comes in a PDF file on a CD. You can print off as many copies as you desire. It can be used on either a PC or a MAC. Software needed is Adobe Acrobat Reader. This can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website if you don't already have it on your computer.
I wrote and developed this unit myself. I am a certified teacher in the state of Nebraska. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Iowa State University and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
